Summer Hemlines...

The weather has been Hot, Hot Heat non stop for the past week or so my outfits are swaying to the less is more side of things. Hemlines are getting shorter, fabrics are lighter and layering is now non- existent. I've stopped applying makeup also, considering it melts away instantly it's practically pointless. This doesn't phase me at all. I truly can't get enough of Summer!!! Here's a fresh "summer" take on the floral dress from Tink In My Closet that I wore to the Lisa Mitchell Concert here. Let me know what you think?

I just had a magical weekend... you know the type of weekend that's so exciting/fun/carefree/ awesome that you just don't want it to end... It started out with a very quiet Friday night at home... sounds boring but it was by choice. I flicked through recipe books and old magazine clippings and was asleep by midnight.

Saturday the lover and I took full advantage of the summer weather and drove to the coast. We couldn't have picked a better day to head to the beach. We sunbathed, made a splash and dozed off. The afternoon followed with a yummy lunch (pea, lemon and ricotta pasta) with combined efforts the whole cooking process took about ten minutes which ensured more time for relaxing. Our night ended with a late night bbq and Ever After- the movie. Sunday we visited Italy for a moment at the cutest little Italian cafe. Coffee, newspaper and honey roasted muesli- what more could a girl ask for?

We then made our way home to another bbq with family and friends followed by a bike ride with a friend. The gentle breeze blowing in my face was the perfect ending to a perfect weekend. I know it might not sound that fabulous in words but it was honestly one of the best weekends I've had in a long time...

Was your weekend magical? What did you do? Tinkxx

So the weather here in Sydney is amazing and by amazing i mean hitting the high 30s. Call me crazy but i love the sweltering heat. Chilling in a crop tee and frilly knickers reading magazines and devouring yummy fruit is the sweetest feeling! My list of things to do goes a little something like this... Grazia, Russh, Frankie, swimming up a storm with the lover and a sushi lunch.

In other news Tink In My Closet has been updated. With some pretty damn cute vintage bags:) This is the first of many updates that are on there way. The Tink In My Closet Aussie summer range will be lots of pretty floral frocks, hippie maxi dresses and candy colours!!

Dress- Portmans, Shoes-Miss Me from Ebay, Ring- Townsville Markets, Earings/Clutch- Groove Accessories.

I wore this dress on Saturday to the boyfriends brothers lovely garden wedding. The colours in the dress instantly caught my eye it was love at first sight. The dress fits perfectly and feels quite luxurious being 100% silk. When it comes to weddings I usually prefer to keep my outfits simple. I know it sounds odd as weddings are usually a time when most glam things up a bit but a pretty dress, fabulous heels and basic accessories are all I need. I stuck with a palette of pink as i felt like dressing ridiculously feminine.

The wedding flowed beautifully taking place in an enchanting heritage house perfectly decorated with chandeliers, flower bouquets and matching colours.Unfortunately the camera i picked up on my way out the door was missing it's memory card so I took very little photos.

The rest of my weekend was spent catching up with friends, making yummy chocolate chip muffins and lazing around with the boy. I finally watched Nick and Norahs infinite playlist. I thought the film was intelligently written and unique. Not only did I thoroughly enjoy the film, I developed a huge girl crush on Kat Dennings. Her face is striking!

Who are we all girl crushing on at this moment? Tinkxx

As promised some more pictures of my little get away:)

Thanks to This Wheels On Fire for tagging me many weeks ago:) and also thanks to Dylana for giving me the Hottest Female Blogger award. I'm completely and utterly flattered due to the fact that I adore both of these lovley ladies blogs. If for some ridiculous reason you haven't checked them out visit them this instant!!

I'm fairly certain that most of us know the drill on how these tags work so here are my random facts. I chucked in a few answers to your questions that I haven't had the chance to respond to personally aswell.

1. I've had my nose pierced since I was 15. It tends to go un noticed though due to the teeny tiny size studs I usually put in. I'm now experimenting with bigger and better ones.

2. That tatoo on my inner wrist is an old fashion key that both I and Nathan (the bf) share. I guess you could say we hold the key to each others hearts/smiles/happiness- Cheesy? Very much so. But really cute too:)

3.My ankle tattoo is a mother/daughter symbol. Considering she's a pretty amazing woman I though she deserved a patch of skin.

4.The new job is in fashion retail as a Visual Merchandiser. Well it will be.

5. My brain is so scrambled at this present time that I'm struggling to list of simple facts about myself. I blame it on the grey and dismal weather of today.

Apologies for the lame excuse of post. My head is clearly in lala land. Tinkxx

A Million Miles Away From Here...

Some may say it's ridiculous and untrue but I truly believe that when surrounded by naturally beautiful things I feel more beautiful both on the inside and the out. Sometimes we find ourselves getting so caught up in the nonsense otherwise known as everyday life that we forget to look at the big picture. Sometimes you just need a little escape..
The beach instantly relaxes me. Staring out to where the sand meets the water and the water meets the sky I think of all the endless opportunities in which the world has to offer each and everyone of us. The ocean reasures you that there's always a place to go. If I had to choose only one feeling to feel for the rest of my life it would probably be the content, free feeling that I get when staring at the ocean.
My life is great!!! If I was to call it anything less I would be an ungrateful monster but when your constantly in the company of others you can lose yourself. I really relish in quality alone time, especially when I get to sneak away to a quiet room and laze on a comfy bed with a good book. I did miss my amazing boyfriend and friends/family though I must say.
On this little get away of mine I slept more soundly than I have in the past 5 months, gorged on scrumptious food( chocolate nachos and seafood fajitas yummy), sipped wine by the pool, visted family, climbed a giant mountain just to have a little sunset picnic and soaked up enough sun to a last me a full winter month.
Sometimes we waste too many days worrying about silly things that may or may not occur. We get ourselves flustered over things like our weight and our future careers. We get carried away and work so hard at impressing others instead of being ourselves and living in the moment. I have returned home with a fresh outlook on life and a clearer mind (not to mention a gorgeous bunch of flowers on my doorstep from my lover:). Life really is as short as they say..

Thanks to everyone for their lovely comments during my absence... I have a lot of catch up posts and comments to respond to but I'm back:) This is about as creative us my outfits got, basic comfy and casual- the perfect beachside attire. More pictures to come soon. Tinkxx
